Why are placeholder images included?

A page may contain a placeholder in src and a final image in data-src or srcset. The extractor can collect both because it inspects attributes without rendering the page or deciding which image a browser would display.

Review the downloaded image entries when your site uses lazy loading. The interface selects whole pages; to remove individual placeholders, edit the XML carefully or adjust the source markup and generate another sitemap.
