What is the difference between an XML and an HTML sitemap?

An XML sitemap is structured for automated processing. An HTML sitemap is a normal web page with navigation links for people. Both can describe a website, but their audiences and formats differ.

This tool downloads XML only. It does not create a visitor-facing HTML directory or alter your menus. Keep helpful navigation on your site even if you publish XML sitemaps.
