How can I check whether my published sitemap works?

Open the exact public address while signed out. Confirm that you receive the XML file rather than an error, login page or HTML fallback. Check several listed page URLs and any important image locations.

Also check that robots.txt references the correct address. If you edit XML manually, validate the syntax before replacing the live file. A reachable file still needs accurate content; stale or duplicate entries require review.
